About Us
FragSwitch was formed with the idea of supporting community growth. Our aim was to host community web sites, such as forums and wikis, and to provide those sites with the best possible experience so they can grow, develop and above all, communicate with their users without problems.
With this is mind and with our staff's experience of not only hosting community sites, but being enthusiastic members of communities, we developed a specialist community hosting service with some of the best hardware and latest software available.
FragSwitch was officially born in early 2008, we had our aim, we had our servers all we needed was a place to call home.
RapidSwitch (Our carrier)
We spent a long time looking into carriers for our service. Eventually we settled on RapidSwitch, who were at the time, based out of BlueSquare 2. RapidSwitch (and our web servers) now reside within RapidSwitch Spectrum House in Maidenhead, United Kingdom. RapidSwitch was chosen because of it's redundant facilities and excellent connectivity to the rest of the world through multiple peers.
Today and Tomorrow
So here we are, our servers are running (well hopefully, you are reading this after all
) and we have servers located in several data centres around the United Kingdom.We are continuing to improve our service by upgrading our hardware and software, researching new techniques and keeping up to date with the latest developments to support community growth.
